1995-2003 DODGE STRATUS 1995-2000 CHRYSLER CIRRUS 1996-2000 PLYMOUTH BREEZE

1994: Introduction of the Chrysler Cirrus at the International AutoShow in Detroit.
1995: Production begins on the Chrysler Cirrus and Dodge Stratus. Cirrus is available in LX and LXi option level. Both models came equiped with a Mitsubishi built 2.5L SOHC V6. Cirrus also share the same engine with the sporty Stratus ES. Two medels were also available with the Stratus, more basic Stratus Highline equiped with a 2.0L SOHC 4-cyl with a 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive and the more sporty Stratus ES came also with the same engine and transaxle but the V6 was on the option list with a 4-speed automatic. The new 2.4L DOHC 4-cyl (replaces the 2.5L 4 cyl.) was optional on both models. Standard features were Next-Generation driver and front passenger airbags, 4-wheel ABS, Tilt, Cruise, Air. Power group is standard on all Cirrus models and Stratus ES. Optional on Stratus Highline.
1996: Second year of production. Cirrus LX came with a 2.4L DOHC 4-cyl for a price cut, V6 was still on the option list. A power sunroof was optional on all Stratus and Cirrus models. Rear occupants adjustable headrest were new with the Cirrus, but just lasted for the 1996 model year. Stratus ES-V6 could be equiped with the AutoStick* transmission. Introduction of a third cousin, the Plymouth Breeze. Very economical, just one engine was available, a 2.0L SOHC 4-cyl with a 5-speed manual or the a 4-speed automatic. Very basic. Leather seats, V6 engine and alloys were not on Breeze's option list.
1997: Third year of production. ABS came standard on both Stratus models and Cirrus LX for again, a price cut. Plymouth introduced at the Auto Show, the Breeze Expresso. Equiped with a 2.4L DOHC 4-cyl, auto, power group, ABS and 95-96 Stratus's wheel covers. Also the Stratus shares is wheel covers with the Dodge Caravan.
1998: Cirrus LX dropped, Cirrus was producing only LXi for this year. Alloy wheels came an option on Stratus ES. Little cosmetic changes for Stratus and Breeze.
1999: Reintroduction of the Cirrus LX, this time no V6 were on the list for the LX version. Also a new wigned badge grill for the Cirrus. New wheel covers and alloys for Stratus/Cirrus/Breeze, new instrument cluster for Stratus and most important change, Stratus come standard with the Power convenience group for all it's models.
2000: Base Stratus replaced by Stratus SE. Plymouth Breeze will be discontinued later this year. No changes for Cirrus.

2001-2003 DODGE STRATUS 2001-2003 CHRYSLER SEBRING

2001: Refreshed Dodge Stratus with new front and rear end, new engines, Cirrus dropped, replaced by Sebring. Stratus is available in SE or ES. Se came with a 2.4L DOHC 4 cyl. sharing with Sebring LX and Stratus ES came with a new Chrysler built 2.7L DOHC V6 strait from under the Intrepid's hood, sharing with Sebring LXi. Both Stratus and Sebring came equiped with a 4-speed automatic transmission.
2002: Introduction of the Stratus R/T sedan with a 5-speed manual transmission. Stratus SE cameequiped with V6, 4-cyl was for the SXT model. ABS standard on all models except SXT.
2003: 4-wheel disk brakes replaced by conventional front disk/rear drum on SE/LX for price cut again.
